"College has been one of the best things that have has happened to me (minus the stressful part :/ ) . I personally see college as a place where one gets to explore new ideas and activities. This leads to my next point. Skateboarding.

I started skateboarding this summer with my friends. Sure, I have got on a board before and ride around one. Simply I did not get into when I was younger. It is never too late to start something new!

From personal experience so far, skateboarding is more about the mentality of doing things. I have a"

Update on College.

"Junior year of college is the turning point of most people's education. It is the time where the most people are deep into their major. You know, the point where it seems too late to turn back. This is not the case for me.

I've changed my major various times to in the last two years. It has not been the easiest process. In most cases it revolved around me jumping back and forth between different areas of science or healthcare related fields to humanities. Not deciding what I wanted in my life has had an effect on my greatly. Many friends know to what extent this led too. Thinking back on this tossing and turning made me realize how I truly did not have a passion for the sciences. You know what it really showed me? I am a person who is very stubborn. I was in denial. Deep down inside, there was no want for me to continue in the sciences. My mindset was not open to explore other options. I felt like a failure if I did not become something in the sciences or be something in healthcare. Avoiding disappointment and failure had become the way my life driving towards.

There comes a time where you have to wake up and come to reality that you really do not have interest in what you are shooting for after attempting various attempts. I should have followed my heart from the very beginning. My advice to you,

""Do not let anyone tell you what you should study. Only y0u know what you want in life.""

I did that mistake and did not follow my dreams right away. It took a lot of courage for me to stand up to myself. It is sort of shocking, huh? The mind is is your worst enemy. I am glad that I did what I did.

Now I am following my passion. A passion that I have always known to have since the first time I took this class in high school. There is this a major sense of relief. I announce that I will fully commit to become a teacher and strive for what I feel that I will do best

Thank you for the support.

With much love,

Life is great!

This post was written in en

Hello friends and family!! I have not written in a while. It has been a busy month and few weeks. School has been great!

Making new friends has been one of the best experiences so far. I have made even more friends as the days have gone by. I have got to know my suite-mates so much since we landed foot on campus. We do a lot of stuff together. Example such as eating breakfast or going out for a midnight snack. Who doesn't like a late McDonald's run. (Especially me since I get a discount for working there :) )  I have been working out a lot with my suite mate. We go almost everyday. It helps I know I can rely on them for anything, as well as they can rely on me for anything. We've experience ups and down.  If I didn't get the opportunity to live in the dorms, who knows if I would of ever met these great people. I'm glad that I made the right choice

There have been so many events on campus it is hard to remember all of them. One of my favorite was the campus scavenger hunt. The purpose of the scavenger hunt was to familiarize and get to the know campus in a competitive way. Another of my favorite events was riding on a float for my fraternity ATΩ. The the theme of homecoming / our float was Blue and Gold Rock N Roll. The float had Zed Zeppelin but for his head it had Louie the Loper. It was a  great way to bond with my fraternity brothers.

Then of course, those who know me how involved I was in high school. Well this is no different here being in college. I am a CAN officer for my building. I am involved with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, specifically in Hispanic Student Association (HSA)  and Young Arab Leaders Association (YALA.) One of the most things I enjoy doing is volunteering for the Nebraska Aids Project here in Kearney. I enjoy helping people who are struggling with HIV/AIDS. Spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS has always been something I have enjoyed since high school

So I am forward to this weekend. I am having a reunion with the World Leaders Camp that I attended this summer. I'm excited to see how everyone is doing. Want to know more about my experience?? click here! (Will open new tab or window).

That is all for now. I'll post more often as I can.

Dont forget to sign up for the mailing list or become a user to get all the updates on my blog

Take Care!

"Hey guys! Pablo here!

Wondering if I was still alive or not? Well here I am. I made it through the first week of college. Since the minute I stepped foot outside my car I knew I was going to enjoy it. Most of it, minus the move in day process.

I got to see my good friend Lucas, who just came back from Brazil to come study here at UNK. Man I missed this guy. He is my roommate that I will be staying with all year long. I just hope we don't kill each by then. So far we are getting along great.

.

Later that morning I got to meet my suite mates: Thomas and Riley. These two are from around North Platte, NE. Who knew we would all be alike? We are all like brothers from another mother. They've made the week great.I wish I would have met them earlier!

Since we are now bros, we have done many fun activities. Activities like working out or even just walking around (towards the cafeteria of course :) )

The first weekend of college was great. There were a lot of fun activities. There was a lot of free food and free stuff!! I got a free stylus for my touch screen computer. That was the highlight of my free stuff shopping spree. I really wanted the free iPad. Oh Well.

Who doesn't like free stuff?? I know I do!

I have made many friends so far. I am glad to see many of my friends that I went to school or that I knew especially from the World Leaders Camp.

People on my floor are amazing. I've met people from Italy to Venezuela. I enjoy being on such a diverse campus where people immerse you in their culture. This will really want me to study abroad.

There have been some funny moments on my floor. Like this one kid who danced to anaconda

It has been such a great week here at UNK. I felt welcome and lucky to be at such a great school. I hope you all enjoyed this post. I hope to hear from many of you guys.

GO LOPERS!!!

Here are some more pictures.!

MAN I <3 COLLEGE!!
