What I bought at Trader Joe's

TJ's extra virgin olive oil being poured in a pan

I recently went to Trader Joe's on my day off today. I noticed prices over the last year have been going up everywhere and Trader Joe's is no exception. I've been working on only buying the things I only need or things to supplement the items I have at home. For example, I bought spinach dip to help me finish the chips I have at home and I bought baby carrots (Cut & Peeled Carrots) to help finish the spinach dip. Inflation is coming on all of us hard. I almost gasped out loud in the store when I saw the price of a litter bottle of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I remember it being $8.99 now it's $10.99. It's just the little things that add up. I have to be extra mindful of the inventory of my kitchen and buy only the things I need and think of items that be versatile in use.

One of my goals this year is to simply not be as wasteful. Adulting is a learning process.

Here is what I bought on this trip.

How I Spent Valentine's Day 2024

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year I actually enjoyed Valentine's Day. Most years are simply quiet and simply wishing the day is over it. Just like every other year, I spent it without a partner. It was a very eventful day ranging to eating sweets all day and going out on a Valentine's Artist Date. I went out to a local gay bar for some cheap drinks and to socialize with people who were probably there for the same thing. You know simply hanging out. I had some great conversation with some patrons. There was also trivia night as well. I didn't stay for it since I was hungry and I wanted to continue on the artist date. So I went to Kiki's Chicken Place for some chicken tender's and fries! I got a free pop (midwestern speak for soda) as well. I don't usually drink pop but I was like, "Live a little!" I also attended Homebrew Website Club off and on throughout the night. The remaining people stayed close to midnight.

I attended the LGBT+ affinity group on campus which was so fun! Why was it fun? We created Valentine's Day Cards. It was so fun to catch up with people who I don't get to see regularly. Just hanging out with colleagues to take off the "work mask" and simply hangout!
